Frequently Asked Questions

  • FrugalFlyerz creates hand-built, ready-to-book transportation itineraries. That means we research flights and, when useful, intermodal options like trains, buses, or ferries, then send you a clean itinerary with route details and clickable booking links.

We focus on transportation only — not hotels, tours, visas, or destination activities.

  • No. FrugalFlyerz is not a travel agency, and we do not book travel on your behalf. We are hyper-specialized as an advisory transportation service.

You are responsible for purchasing your own tickets, reviewing all details before booking, and making sure the itinerary works for your personal situation, including visa rules, baggage policies, transit requirements, and schedule risks.

  • We get flights from the same places you do: aggregators and airline websites. We don’t have any specialized software.

With software, even advanced algorithms and AI are unable to plan flights as complex as we do. This is due to the “Traveling Salesman Problem”, where finding paths becomes exponentially harder the more stops you add. We also consider possibilities that most flight software will not, such as multi-day layovers or intermodal transit.

  • You absolutely can, and for simple trips, that may be enough. For multicontinental routes, we maintain that you are likely to be highly overcharged.

FrugalFlyerz is for travelers who want someone to go deeper: alternate airports, split routes, open-jaw itineraries, long layovers, intermodal connections, creative routing, and combinations that search engines often don’t surface cleanly.

Search engines are tools. We use strategy.

  • Your itinerary may include:

    • Flight options

    • Airline names

    • Airport codes

    • Departure and arrival times

    • Route details

    • Intermodal options when useful

    • Notes on tradeoffs

    • Clickable booking links

The goal is to make the route clear, organized, and ready for you to book.

  • No. Flight prices can change quickly, and we cannot control airline, agency, or provider pricing.

Your itinerary is based on the best available information at the time it is delivered. You should review and book as soon as possible if you like the route.

  • For eligible Venture (single-route) requests, we guarantee $200+ in savings for multicontinental flights or your money back.

To qualify, you must select budget as your priority on the intake form (options A and B), and the trip must involve multicontinental flights greater than 4,000 miles. The benchmark is the average minimum economy fare shown in Google Flights for the relevant travel month.

  • Because Venture is a narrow, single-route service where savings can be measured more clearly.

Larger multi-destination trips involve more tradeoffs: comfort, timing, stopovers, preferred airports, risk tolerance, and route complexity. For those plans, the value is not just “lowest fare” — it’s building a smarter transportation strategy. We are confident that these plans will save you far more than you spend with us, with the added benefit of saving you hours in planning time.

  • Each plan includes a set number of revisions. Revisions are meant for reasonable changes based on your original request, such as adjusting timing, choosing between tradeoffs, or refining a route. Requests for revisions must be submitted to support@frugalflyerz within 72 hours after receiving itineraries.

  • Yes. We deliver a completed itinerary for you to use as you see fit. You can book as many seats as you like.

Note that we only look at flights for availability. If departure dates are near, demand is high, or your group is large in number, you may not be able to find all the seats you need.

  • Yes and no. We don’t factor airline miles into your plan. Our goal is to find you affordable flights, and airline points are highly unpredictable and dependent on the account user.

However, you can specify strongly preferred airlines on your intake form, and we will take that into account when available.

  • Intermodal means using more than one type of transportation.

For example, a route might combine a flight with a train, ferry, or bus if that produces a cheaper, more comfortable, or more practical trip. We only include these options when they make sense for the traveler and the route.

  • FrugalFlyerz is not responsible for booking, airline schedule changes, missed connections, denied boarding, visa or transit issues, baggage fees, fare rules, passport validity, provider cancellations, or customer service disputes with airlines or travel companies.

We provide research, strategy, and itinerary organization. You make the final purchase decisions.

  • Unfortunately, routes and prices are changing all the time. It wouldn’t be helpful for us to recommend a specific route you should always take to get the best price.

We recommend waiting until you are ready to travel before engaging with us.

  • We can only plan itineraries with a final destination less than 330 days in the future. Anything later than that risks limited or nonexistent inventory.

We recommend keeping your plans for travel between 1-9 months in the future.
